September 1, 1982

To the Member Societies of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and to the UUA Board of Trustees:

We submit this report on the 1982 Youth Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association with great pride and anticipation.

Our pride is in the accomplishments of two successive youth assemblies, involving the work of some four hundred individual delegates and thirty staff members over a two year period. We are conscious that our efforts have been one part of the work of this larger community of committed people.

Our anticipation is of the months and years ahead, and the work left to be done. This report is submitted to the UUA Board, and we look forward to their advice and consent in the proposed structures and procedures for our youth organization, Young Religious Unitarian Universalists.

It is also submitted to the member societies of the UUA as well as the Board, for we know that regardless of the details of funding and structure, we have taken an irrevocable step with the 1982 Youth Assembly. We will have a new continental youth structure in place in 1983 and beyond, and the real work is now to be done in the Districts and in the local societies.

With this report, we invite you to join us in our task.

Respectfully submitted,

Beth Cox, Chair
